The Airport Authority continues to deliver Security and Rescue Fire Fighting services to Lynden Pindling International Airport (LPIA) as well as throughout the Family Islands.

The Airport Authority has successfully passed many Regulatory Audits conducted by The Civil Aviation Authority Bahamas (CAAB), the U.S. Transportation Security

Administration (TSA) and the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). The Bahamian Government entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with the Government of the United States in July, 2013. This Agreement covers the Pre-Clearance Airports of LPIA and Grand Bahama International Airport. It pledges that

these Airports shall operate to the United States TSA standards and also enables the TSA to conduct regular audits of these facilitates and Family Island Airports with scheduled U.S. departures.

The Airport Authority plays a pivotal role in the aviation sector by managing and providing security services to 28 Family Island airports. The Authority is also tasked with providing comprehensive security services at Lynden Pindling International Airport (LPIA),while Nassau Airport Development manages the nation’s primary gateway to the world.
